Creating Embroidered Designs With the Design Studio

VStitch works within your computers web browser without any special software. On the PC we currently support Internet Explorer 5.5 to 6.0 and all versions of Firefox.  On the Mac (OSX) we support Safari and Firefox.  Any other browser that supports JavaScript and CSS may also work, however we have not tested them.

Decide what kind of design you would like to create.

There are three options:

 

Text Only Design

You can create a design that contains up to 3 lines of text with 20 letters each.  You will be able to modify the size, style, and color of your text.  The maximum design size will be limited to 4 inches wide by 3 inches.

Text and Artwork Design

You can use our library of over 16000 designs to pick stock artwork that will serve as the focal point of your design.  You can fully customize the stock design with a selection of 25 standard colors.  You may also add up to 3 lines of text with 20 letters each to your artwork.  You will be able to modify the size, style, and color of your text.

Uploaded Logo

If you have a logo in GIF or JPG format you can upload it to our site.  Our team of expert digitizers will create an embroidery design from your artwork. Our digitizers are the some of the best in the industry with over 40 years combined experience and have developed thousands of designs, you will be very happy with the design they create for you.

Decide what your design will be sewn on.

VStitch Studio allows you to create design's that are up to 4 inches wide by 3 inches high.  Designs of this size will fit on all the garments we sell, however you must be careful when creating designs to be used on hats and shirts.  As shown in the following table hat designs are limited to 2.25 inches high.  If you plan to use one design on both a hat and shirt then you are limited to a design height of 2.25 inches.

To create a text only design open a browser and navigate to the Corporate Casuals "Design Center".  Select "Text Only Design" by clicking on the graphic.  You will be sent to the studio page which will contain the sample text "Your Text Here".

To Modify Text:

Click the "Add/Edit Text"  button.  Enter the desired text in any of the three spaces provided.  Your text will appear as you type in the canvas area.  If you are on a slow internet connection, the text may take a second or two to appear.

 

To See How Your Design Will Look on a Garment:

Simply move your mouse over any of the preview icons:

      

You will see your design shown to scale on a sample garment.  Please note that the scale is approximate since garments vary in size.

 

To Modify Text Size:

Click the "Text Size" button.  You will be able to select a variety of fonts and sizes.  As you make selections the changes will be reflected in the canvas area.  If you are on a slow internet connection, the text may take a second or two to appear.  Please note that the height of text varies across font styles.  For example, the small block font is about 6mm high while the small script font is about 10mm high.   

 

To Modify  Text Color:

Click the "Colors" button.  Click on the color you would like to change and a color picker will appear.  Select any color from the color picker.  When finished click the "apply" button to see your changes.  There are a total of 25 font colors and 9 background colors.

 

Why do I have to choose a background color?  Doesn't the garment determine the background?

Yes, the background color is determined by the garments you choose.  The background color feature allows you to see how your design will look on light and dark backgrounds.  For example, a design with black text will not show up very well if you plan on picking black garment.  In this example you may choose to use a different color so the design will look good on light and dark colored fabric.

 

To Save the Design:

Verify that your design is EXACTLY the way you want it.  If you are creating a design for use on a hat make sure it fits within the hat area of the canvas.  Enter your initials in the textbox located under the canvas area. 

Select the "Save Design" button.  You will be prompted for a unique name for your design along with your login information.  If you do not have a Corporate Casuals login you will be prompted to create one.

To create a text and artwork design open a browser and navigate to the Corporate Casuals "Design Center".  Select "Stock Designs & Text" by clicking on the graphic.  You then need to browse for the stock design that you would like to use.  You can type in a keyword (dog, cat, car, boat, etc), or you can browse thru the categories in the design directory.  When you have found the right stock desgin simply click on it and you will be brought to the studio page and see the stock design you picked.

To Add or Modify Text:
